Evaluation of Tetrazolium (TZ) Tests on Small Vegetable Seeds

Short roots are another form of abnormal seedling found in lettuce.

This occurs in older seed and in seed damaged in processing.

Short roots are easy to observe in a germination test, especially when the test is slanted or upright.
